Lisa initially trained as a textile conservator and worked for 12 years at The National Trust’s Textile Conservation Studio on the Blickling Estate. With a young family and the desire to do something more creative, Lisa re-trained in the creation of new soft furnishings with a view to concentrating on reproduction soft furnishings for historic properties. Word quickly spread and Lisa soon had a full time work load which included commissions from the National Trust, local interior designers, private owners of large country houses and local individuals. It rapidly became obvious that help and more space were required, resulting in the move to the studio/shop on Penfold Street, Aylsham in 2008.

The move proved a huge success and Lisa and her team were extremely relieved when the shop next door became available in August 2009. A sledge hammer and some plastering soon turned the two spaces into a connected shop and studio, allowing room for the business to expand into fabric stock on rolls, home sewing supplies and a dedicated interior design area. In addition, the workroom was able to double in size, allowing more room for the creation of the beautifully crafted soft furnishings Lisa Dawson’s team have built their reputation on.

Lisa is extremely proud of both the service and products the business has brought to Aylsham and the North Norfolk area. “I have spent the last two years putting together a highly talented, motivated and professional team, including sales assistants, an interior designer, three seamstresses and an administrator to keep everything ticking over. I continue to oversee all aspects of the business and spend as much time as possible at my worktable, doing what I love best….sewing!

We place huge importance on helping people to chose the right furnishings for their homes.

We pride ourselves on offering services to cater to most budgets, and have worked hard to create a very friendly environment where clients can relax and take their time to find what they are looking for. “
